26 Sep Ordering Vaccines to Maximize Savings and Earn Rebates
Did You Know?
Currently PAA offers members vaccine savings opportunities through our direct agreements with GSK, Sanofi, Pfizer, Moderna and Seqirus.
Ordering vaccines from the manufacturer through our direct contracts is a fast, cost-effective and reliable way to purchase vaccines. Once your practice completes the process to link to one of PAA’s vaccine agreements, you place orders directly from the manufacturer via their website, customer service reps or by phone.
Distributors may offer the option for members to order vaccines through them along with other products for a ‘one-stop shop’ experience. However, there are several reasons a practice should consider ordering vaccines on a direct basis:
• Fast: It may take as long as 30-days or more for a practice to be linked to a vaccine contract through a distributor. This process is typically completed within 24 hours to no more than 10 days when linking directly to the manufacturer’s agreement through a buying group. This enables practices to begin to place orders as quickly as possible.
• Cost effective: Distributor prices for their products, including vaccines, can be determined by the sales representatives based on each individual account’s purchases. The distributor’s vaccine pricing may appear to be below what buying groups offer, but for only one or two vaccines and not the entire portfolio. Distributor’s vaccine prices can also gradually increase over time without notice, so invoices must be carefully reviewed.
• Reliable: PAA offers members the opportunity to earn rebates based on their net vaccine sales. Since the sales data needed to calculate these rebates is not provided directly from the distributor, these sales may not be accurately reported and a member may miss being evaluated to receive a PAA rebate.
Our priority is to ensure that PAA members receive the best pricing, terms and rebates possible. Please feel free to reach out to see how your practice can maximize its savings.
